Missing Features: Dragging in PowerPoint

Published by Justin at 5:44 am under Missing Features

PowerPoint is a great bad tool for teaching and giving presentations. Overall, the interface is well designed. However, there is one glaring missing feature.

Why can’t you drag objects from the editing area onto a slide preview on the left to move an object from one slide to the other? You can drag objects all over an individual slide but you can’t drag it to another slide.

This is problematic because it breaks a paradigm PowerPoint works hard to create: that a user can drag objects around the screen to change the layout of the presentation.
